Multiply - Upcycle Your Old Jeans Into A Bag

Description

Reduce waste and re-purpose your unwanted jeans into a bag that can be used every day.

You will calculate the pattern before cutting the fabric. Learn to use the pattern master ruler correctly and measure, mark and cut accurately.

Then learn basic sewing machine skills and gain confidence to stitch to a required measurement before making a bag that you will be proud of.

You will learn techniques and decorative finishes to add to your individual design. Gaining confidence and ability to realise your creative ideas.

This workshop comes under the Multiply programme to improve the numeracy in adults. You will be asked to fill in an enrolment form to confirm your need support with maths.

Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone who would like to improve practical skills and improve their numeracy skills.

Do I need prior knowledge or experience?
This course is suitable for all levels from beginners to more experienced learners.

How will I learn?
The workshop combines the formal teaching of practical skills, demonstrations and one to one sessions on projects under the guidance of the tutor.

How will my progress be assessed?
You will be assessed informally by your tutor, as part of normal classroom activities. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor.

Is there an external qualification?
No, this is an non-accredited course.

What can I do next?
You can join other Multiply workshops or progress to other courses at BAEC.

What do I need to bring?
You will be notified before the start of the session if you need to bring anything and please bring your glasses if you wear them.
