Drawing & Painting - Art for Wellbeing

Visual of the course

Description

This course is for all abilities - learners only need to have an open and enquiring mind and be willing to have fun. Taking a number of genres and notable artists and exemplars - the tutor will lead learners through practical exercises and artistic experiments to gain new skills and better understand the theme. A variety of materials will be used ie mixed media. The works/artists/genres looked at will come from very traditional revered artists - through to contemporary ones working today. The course structure is based on the theory that much creativity is the result of PLAY. Having fun and getting messy is part of the process. Philosophically the term, Homo Ludens, has been around for centuries - Backing this is more recent research on creativity that indicates that much innovative work and new discoveries are made by people who are willing to branch out, take risks and fail. The cost of materials is not included in the cost of the course. Please read the full description in ''More details'' below before completing your enrolment.
