Drawing & Painting - Botanical Illustration & Decorative Florals

Visual of the course

Description

Explore the rich and detailed world of botanical art through a variety of traditional mediums including ink, watercolour, and pencil. This course introduces core techniques in botanical illustration, decorative floral painting, and surface pattern design, guiding learners through a series of focused mini-projects. Each project encourages experimentation with a specific medium or style, ranging from accurate observational drawing to expressive painting and repeat pattern creation. You might use watercolour to capture the delicate structure of a bloom, apply fine ink work to explore leaf detail, or develop a stylised floral motif for a decorative composition. Along the way, you'll build practical skills and discover the diverse creative possibilities within botanical-inspired art.
