Take a look at Utility bills - comparing costs to reduce spending. Move on to shopping - looking at supermarket deals and loyalty cards, meal planning, reducing waste and saving money. Who is the course for?
This course is for anyone who has an interest in learning more about money management using maths skills for everyday life.

Do I need prior knowledge or experience?
There is no prior knowledge required to join this course.

How will I learn?
A practical course with a mixture of one to one and small group tuition, demonstration, discussion and questions and answers.

How will my progress be assessed?
You will be assessed informally by your tutor, as part of normal classroom activities. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor.

Is there an external qualification?
No, this is an non-accredited course

What can I do next?
Further Maths courses at either the Poverest or Kentwood Centres starting in September 2026.

What do I need to bring?
Pen and paper, calculator may be useful.

Are there any extra costs?
No this course is free to access.

Is there work between sessions?
It is useful to practise between sessions.
