Would you like to understand how businesses record and manage their finances? This practical introductory course will help you develop the essential bookkeeping skills needed to confidently record financial transactions and understand basic accounting processes.
You will learn the principles of double-entry bookkeeping, how to record income and expenses, maintain financial records, and understand key documents such as invoices, receipts and bank statements. The course will introduce you to terminology used in bookkeeping and provide opportunities to practise essential skills using realistic examples.
This course is ideal for beginners, those looking to improve their financial confidence, anyone considering a career in accounting, or small business owners who want to better understand their business finances.
You should have a good standard of numeracy, ideally with Functional skills Maths Level 2, GCSE or O'level (Grade 4/C) or an equivalent qualification.
Basic computer skills are recommended as you may use spreadsheets and digital tools during the course. No previous bookkeeping experience is required.
